What we offer
Our offices utilize the latest in computer and digital technology, coupled with the state-of-the-art braces and thermally active wires (wires activated by body heat) make for creating great smiles in a shorter total treatment time and with significantly less discomfort to the patient. This technology also allows for longer intervals between visits. Computerized imaging and treatment planning allows the computer to assist the orthodontist in better, more precise planning for the patient’s treatment.
Technological advances in wire braces and wire developments allow us to treat patients with even greater ease and comfort.
As technology advances into the twenty-first century, so do the orthodontic profession and its ability to treat individual patients quickly, efficiently and more comfortably.
Invisalign: A revolutionary way of straightening teeth.
For years, traditional braces had been the only option for adults who wanted straighter teeth. The Invisalign system offers the first true alternative to braces, by utilizing advances in 3-D imaging technology to a create series of customized plastic clear aligners.
Invisalign is the clear solution for patients that want straight teeth without braces. Invisalign uses a series of nearly undetectable aligners instead of braces. So it is really hard for people to tell you are wearing Invisalign even up close. Invisalign can give you the smile you have always wanted without the wires you have always avoided.
The Invisalign is quite comfortable, and it is very easy to remove for eating, brushing and flossing of your teeth. If you think Invisalign is the answer to your needs, just call our office to arrange for consultation. Dr. Chamma is an orthodontist who has been Invisalign-trained and certified to determine whether this is the right treatment for you.
Are the most common, however, our offices are using them less and less due to the new and highly effective miniature braces called Speed braces. The standard braces use small ring like elastics to activate arch wires. Most children and teenagers like to dress up their braces with different coloured elastics that can be changed at each appointment. For example; red for Valentines, red and green for Christmas, even orange and black for Halloween or simply just to colour coordinate their wardrobes. Our offices offer 25 different colours that the patient can chose from.
Speed’s 20-year history of clinical use and product refinement has resulted in the most advanced self-ligating bracket design available today. The speed braces system has the following advantages:
Comfort: miniaturized design (approx. 1/3rd smaller than conventional braces), this in turn will lead to minimize the lip and cheek irritation. In addition, their springs apply a gentle force, which means less discomfort and pain throughout the treatment.
Esthetic: Its design eliminates the “railroad track” look that many people considering orthodontic treatment find unacceptable.
Hygienic: Their small size and absence of “tie wings” (which often catch and trap food) make it easier to clean.
Efficient: The speed super-elastic spring clips create a very efficient activation when the tooth is not in its correct position. With patient cooperation, speed braces often reduces the length of orthodontic treatment duration.
The Damon System is not just a new product, it’s a whole new way of treating patients. Conventional treatment often requires removal of healthy teeth and/or the use of palatal expanders to make space. This approach is often uncomfortable, takes longer, and can leave a narrower arch and a flat profile. Damon smiles are full, natural 10-tooth smiles achieved with light biologically-sensible forces, and are specifically designed to improve the overall facial result of each patient.
